Become a volunteer

Applicants must have the following criteria in order to be accepted as a volunteer:

1. Be 16 years of age or older to participate.
2. Sign a consent form; if under 18, the form must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. You can find the form here.
3. Attend at least (1) information session taking place in February, March or in September 2020
4. Attend at least (1) Training Sessions taking place in October
5. A minimum of 5 hours of volunteering must be completed to receive any reward(see the chart lower). 

Applicants who do not fill all of these conditions may be refused to volunteer without notice.

Please note that:

• All valuables are the responsibility of the volunteer as Geek-It! is not responsible for theft or lost items.
• Geek-It! is not responsible for any financial obligations or liabilities a volunteer may incur, including damages to property, or injury to others while participating in this program.

Volunteers agree to follow the rules and policies of the convention, failure to do so may result in the termination of the individual’s involvement within the program or expulsion and forfeiture of all rewards, depending on the severity of the incident, which includes: harassment, abuse, disrespect, late arrivals and no shows.

Privacy

The information provided through the Volunteer Application Form will not be disclosed publicly and will only be used internally or in the event of an emergency.

Cancellations

If you can no longer volunteer at Geek-It!, you must notify us at the latest by September 1st, 2020, by email at info@geekitcon.com with the following mention in the title so that the appropriate person will answer back to you:
